Vanilla Pudding Crushed Oreos (Print)

# Components:

→ Pudding

01 - 2 cups whole milk
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1/4 cup cornstarch
04 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
05 - 2 large egg yolks
06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
07 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

08 - 10 Oreo cookies, crushed

# Directions:

01 - Whisk whole milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt together in a medium saucepan until smooth.
02 - Place saucepan over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually add about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture into the yolks, whisking continuously to temper.
04 - Pour the tempered yolk mixture back into the saucepan while whisking constantly and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
05 - Remove from heat and stir in unsalted butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and smooth.
06 - Divide pudding into serving glasses or bowls. Allow to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes or refrigerate for at least 1 hour if preferred chilled.
07 - Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies over pudding just before serving. Add whipped cream as desired.
